Entebbe municipality health sub district.

 Entebbe Health Sub-District is an urban area with two divisions ‘A’ & ‘B’ each with two parishes/wards.  It has 5 government health units and 1 private not for profit health unit as shown below

 The most common diseases seen in the health sub district are:-

  • Malaria                                               
  • Respiratory tract infections                                        
  • Diarrhoea
  • Anaemia
  • Intestinal worms
  • Dental diseases and conditions
  • Trauma / road traffic accidents
  • Skin conditions
  • Urinary tract infections
  • HIV/AIDS related illnesses

 The peculiar diseases in the health sub-district.

  • Animal bites
  • Schistosomiasis (Bilhazia)

 Other activities carried out in the health department are as follows;

  • Integrated outreaches to the communities with emphasis on immunizations.
  • School outreaches and inspections.
  • Solid waste management in the municipality.
  • Medical examinations for food handlers.
  • Routine inspections of commercial and residential premises.
  • Scrutiny of building plans.
